TPWD – Maintenance Specialist III, Lake Brownwood: Lake Brownwood State Park offers a unique combination of natural beauty and historic facilities for the public to enjoy. This position is part of a team that is critical in providing the best possible experience to our guests with their overnight facilities. Under the direction of the Lead Ranger, this position is responsible for duties pertaining to park operations, maintenance and visitor services at Lake Brownwood State Park. The position maintains park facilities including cleaning of all park buildings, maintains park grounds by mowing, tree and hedge trimming, maintaining picnic facilities, trash and litter removal, operating, repairing and maintaining equipment and facilities. Provides visitors services by providing general information about the park to the public and visitors. Performs duties including, but not limited to, advises visitors of park rules and regulations; promotes public relations via voluntary compliance; and patrols state lands and responds to emergency situations; and prepares for emergency response. Works under the minimal supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. The United States Border Patrol (USBP) within CBP is hiring 20 Border Patrol Agent Student Interns/Trainees in El Paso, Texas and Tucson, Arizona to execute its mission of preventing the entry of terrorists and their weapons from entering the United States; and preventing the illicit trafficking of people and contraband between official CBP ports of entry. Border Patrol Agents (BPA) are responsible for the detection, prevention and apprehension and/or deterrence of terrorists, terrorist weapons, undocumented aliens and smugglers of aliens at or near the land border by maintaining surveillance from a covert position, responding to electronic sensor television systems and aircraft sightings. BPA Student Intern/Trainees support Border Patrol Agents in detainee processing, and field and program support. BPA Student Trainees do not need experience for the internship and receive training for the duration of the internship.
